This half term the children have been learning all about "The Three Billy Goats Gruff". They enjoyed building bridges and acting out the story. The children laughed lots and lots when the troll fell into the river. They used the puppets and masks independently in the room after working together to retell the story in group time. After learning the Makaton signs for the story, the children moved on to talk about Autumn.
The home learning was to fill a paper bag of Autumn treasure and share these at group time. The children found conkers, acorns, pine cones and leaves of all different colours! Some children pointed out that the colours of the leaves had changed from green to yellow, orange and red.
Moving on from Autumn, we started to explore Owl Babies. The children have loved connecting Autumn to the story. The children enjoyed reading the book and delving into the world of Sarah, Percy and Bill and talking about how your grown always comes back to see you.
