In the Under Threes’ Room we have been very busy settling in and getting to know all the new children and families. To help us get to know each other we have enjoyed our ‘Hello’ songs, where we sing to all the children and staff by name. We have also been practicing signing the first letter of our names too. We have also created a family book, filled with pictures of the children, their friends and families. It’s great to have a look through and prompt conversations and help us get to know each other and who is important to our children.
Some of our learning this term has included sending home autumn bags for the children to collect their own autumn treasures. The children have then brought these back into nursery and we have been exploring these and turning our treasure into beautiful autumn artwork. We enjoyed printing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Stars" alongside learning the Makaton signs for the song.
We have also been very busy at building this half term as we have been learning all about 'Humpty Dumpty'. The children have loved pretending to be builders and using the large foam bricks to make walls. They especially loved knocking them down again. We all wonder what we will get up to next half term!
